So, here are the events I’ve loaded so far, enjoy!
Only Events…for Now
While I hope to expand this, I will have my hands full loading in all the pets purely from festivals. So, for now at least, critters available from other sources won’t feature here.
Festival/Event LOTRO Pets
The current or most recent event will be marked with . For those on larger screens, that tab will also be active when you load the page.

Festivity Tokens Pets
As I grow this LOTRO pets tool, this tab will also improve. As Festivity Tokens are earned across various LOTRO Events, I thought it warranted a separate tab on my LOTRO pets tool.
I am aware of at least one Token pet from Farmers Faire not recorded here. I will fix that within a day or two of the Farmers Faire 2022 kicking off.
Remember to Search
Any pet I have in my database can also be found in the site search above. If it has a dedicating listing, then that will be obvious. If not, it should return the relevant guide to help you.
Features Coming Soon
This is just the start, but a helpful one I think! Here are some of the features planned, some of which are already in the code:
- Filter by Species: search for LOTRO pets by the type of creature (or kite…) so you can figure out which LOTRO Event to rock up to.
- Custom Find Tool: What I want to build here and for my mounts tools too, is an on-page search. This will allow you to, say, choose a creature type, but only those for a normal event token (rather than Festivity Tokens).
- Find Flying/Floating Pets: sometimes these can be more obvious than a little thing following in your shadow.
LOTRO Pets in Event Guides
While I build this tool, here are all my current LOTRO Event Guides. I have linked the image directly to the pets section of that guide. These are in alphabetical order to make it easier to find the relevant festival.
For completeness, all events are listed below to avoid confusion. I’ll only remove this section once almost all the events LOTRO pets are added. Enjoy!
Change Your Pet’s Name
Regardless of which type of pets you have in LOTRO, you can give them a custom name! See: How to Rename Pets in LOTRO for instructions on each pet type.
Which of the LOTRO Pets is Your Favourite?
LOTRO pets are a great way to help your character not feel quite so lonely on their adventures. With such a wide variety available, it can be easy to find those you love the most. The challenge is…choosing which one you want to join in once you login! Which of the LOTRO pets is your favourite? Why not let me know on Twitter?
