The LOTRO Events Schedule forms the backbone of community gettogethers in Middle-Earth. With seasonal events, featuring new outfit cosmetics, mounts and tons of other rewards, it’s jam-packed. “Hmm, jam” mutters my inner-Hobbit!
And these are the official ones in the Calendar, but keep your eye on the LOTRO Forums and Social Media for player-run events too. Let’s take a look at what LOTRO Festivals and Events 2024 have in store for us!
2024 Roadmap
As well as the events schedule. we have this year’s Roadmap.
It looks like we’re not seeing another crafting event added this year – or at least they haven’t pre-announced it. That said, in terms of events and content I cover here, there are some highlights!
- Spring Festival and the 17th Anniversary Event
- A new hobby to go alongside the Fishing Hobby
- 4th LOTRO Crafting Profession: Now I’m going to assume this means characters can have 4 professions, because the current limit is 3. I could be wrong, of course.
- An addition to the Further Adventures Missions.
What Time Do LOTRO Events Start and Finish?
Generally speaking, events and festivals in The Lord of the Rings Online
- Start: 10am EST, 2pm or 3pm UK Time (Depending on British Summer Time changes)
- End: 3am EST, 7am or 8am UK Time
So let’s crack on and see what the LOTRO Events Calendar has in store for us in 2024!

10th Oct – 4th Nov
It’s autumn, it’s hallowe’en and it’s harvest time. So what’s this event called? Harvestmath and Fall Festival! It depends where you look in-game.
But with loads of quests, two starkly different zones and a changing wheat-maze, you can reap the rewards pretty quickly.
10th Oct – 14th Oct
Remember to check your earning virtue in your traits panel before going on a mass deeding run! Get 10% extra VXP during these five days.
17th Oct – 22nd Oct
Take a trip to Eryn Lasgalen – or ask someone for a lift – and come to experience Durin’s Day in LOTRO. It is well worth it.
Spectacular screenshots in the above guide. Enjoy.
24th Oct – 28th Oct
+25% Crafting XP Boost
Have you been waiting to level up your crafting to finally use that recipe you’ve been holding onto? Well, +25% CXP is here to help you on your way.
And if you’re newish to the Lord of the Rings Online, then see my tutorial on crafting in LOTRO.
30th Oct – 4th Nov
+25% Skirmish Marks
You might be taking a different approach to levelling your alts. You may need to save Marks and Medallions for something. Or you’ve been putting off that Skirmish the Epic quest requires for too long.
Either way, train up your soldier, get your Skirmish Soldier Cosmetics right, then go do the darn Skirmishes. You get 25% more marks this week!
November
- Filbert Fig departs around the 13th/14th November, making way for Rowan Raspberry.
- Legendary Item Reward Track Season 11 ends on the 14th November.
- Reward Track Season 12 Starts, and runs until 12th February 2025.
7th Nov – 13th Nov
Time for the second – and last – Treasure Hunting Event of 2024. It’s not technically a race, but I’ve certainly seen players treat it like one!
If someone beats you to a dig – don’t stress. A new round will start shortly!
13th November
The Rotating Figments vendor changes again. Please note, even the official version says this is “approximate” – although last year’s “approximate”s were pretty much accurate.
Filbert Fig moves over to let Rowan Raspberry in. Always check to see if she has new stock. I’ve noticed this become more the case recently – and strongly linked to expansions or recent content themes.
21st Nov – 25th Nov
+25% XP Boost
Another boost to regular XP for all players. As you’ll notice these happen fairly often in the LOTRO Events Schedule. If you want to focus on levelling, then make a note of these boost weeks.
27th Nov – 2nd Dec
+25% Lootbox Embers/Motes
More Embers and Motes from your lootboxes. Sadly my Beorning here isn’t carrying a lootbox, but it’s the closest thing I had in my screenshots at the time!
December
5th – 9th Dec
Hobnanigans
Chickens beware
Hobnanigans is back.
Don’t stay to watch
Or you’ll get a thwack!
12th Dec – 6th Jan
Once more Winter-home is buzzing for another Yule Festival. And once more the Mayor is unrepentant about the low wages he pays his workers.
This seasonal Festival is also accompanied by special chance drops in Hobbit Presents (both silver and gold), so I hope you get something memorable this year in your Hobbit sack.
12th – 16th Dec
+25% Skirmish Marks
It’s the last Skirmish Marks bonus of the year – it feels like there have been loads. But you don’t have to do everything – just pick what you enjoy doing. Then go ahead and enjoy it – for relaxation and reward.
19th – 23rd Dec
+25% Crafting XP
Clear down all that material you’ve been amassing – at the regular CXP rate.
Then turn it into gear, cosmetics, decoration – at 25% more CXP than usual. Unless you only do your crafting when this bonus is up, in which case – it’s at your usual rate!
19th – 30th Dec
Sometimes older items from the other Figments of Splendour vendors make their way into the Curator’s stock. So, if you missed something from the other vendors, catch up with the curator until the 30th December!
24th – 30th Dec
VIP Event Boost
An XP boost at the end of the year: because we all worry about how fast we’re levelling up over the Christmas period.
Aging, sorry I worry how quickly I’m aging over the Christmas period. Not levelling-up. That would assume I was getting stronger. And I’m not that delusional!
Lastly, a Virtue XP boost is active from 31st December 2024 to the 6th January 2025.
