The Coat of Icy Expeditions is definitely made for the colder weather! Even the base material has the feel of wool or thickly-woven thread.
It is two-layered with a printed-impression of a belt (and enormous buckle) holding them together.
The under-jacket has buttons that actually look like sweetie wrappers. That's cute if intentional, as it fits the season.
Lastly, it comes with a warm, thick collar. For that reason, there is no need for a shoulder item in this set - and there isn't one.
If you wear the Coat of Icy Expeditions along with the matching cloak (or hooded cloak), this collar goes around it a bit like a scarf.
Clipping
If you have long-ish hair, make sure you preview before spending your tokens. Glinmaethor's hair clips through the collar part here.
This is not visible if paired with the cloak, but this coat lends itself to being worn without a cloak. You could argue it is a scarf, but it's very firmly attached to the front of the coat, hence my saying "like a scarf", earlier.
The Colours of the Coat of Icy Expeditions
With this cosmetic, LOTRO have plumped for a green-purple pairing. Often that can look awful, but by using muted shades of each, it's really easy on the eyes. And, if you see Does It Dye below, you'll notice even dyed coloured take on a subtler form.
Does It Dye?
Yes, but the colour comes out muted or softened. White comes off as a light grey, for example.
Here is the coat, dyed in the colours available from the Yule Festival vendor:
