In recent LOTRO events, it's the quality of the cloaks that has caught my attention. The Cloak of Icy Expeditions is no exception.
I love the shade of purple chosen in 2023, though it was tricky for me to get the "real" colour when editing the screenshots for you.
But, stitched over that purple material are two opposite patterns; Gold chevrons pointing upwards, and furry ones pointing downwards. And it just works!
Does It Dye?
Yes it does, and arguably, better than the Coat of Icy Expeditions. I love it dyed red. Apparently, I loved it so much that I forgot to screenshot other dyes!
Just note that the colours are slightly toned down and/or softened. So, while it may appear muted, this example is "red dye" and not "crimson" dye.
