Welcome to my quick FFXIV Rising 2024 Event Guide. Despite having played Final Fantasy 14 for a good number of years, I only recently discovered that The Rising isn’t purely a FFXIV Anniversary event. Instead it celebrates the year that A Realm Reborn launched. That’s tantamount to celebrating the descent of Dalamud, but Eorzea as we now know it was the result.
2024 is, I found out from Social Media (therefore is official, possible fact) the fourteenth year of FFXIV existing, but only eleven since ARR. Let’s see what’s going on this year at The Rising, then.
“In case you didn’t know, the Rising is an annual celebration of FINAL FANTASY XIV’s rebirth!”

When Is The Rising 2024?
- From Tuesday August 27th at Midnight PDT, 8am BST (GMT+1)
- to Wednesday September 11th at 7:59am PDT, 3:59 BST (GMT+1)
(Convert your time here). No, it’s not an affiliate link, I’m just trying to provide something useful. Other options are available, terms and conditions, while stocks last yada yada.
The start time is subject to change now, due to maintenance. The event will kick off once maintenance is done.
Thanks to @AndyHat for the heads-up.
How To Get Started
- Head to Limsa Lominsa and make your way to the Upper Deck (Aetheryte Shard: Aftcastle)
- Speak to the Wandering Minstrel at X:11.3, Y:13.7
- Pick up the quest Rising to the Call
- When looking for Ayayo at the Marauders’ Guild, enter the guild, turn right and head downstairs, down the ramp.
Your quest is to help Ayoyo here to put on a meanful and memorable fireworks display for this year’s Rising Celebration.
Rising to the Call NPC Locations
I don’t want to give spoilers, but on the first phase when you’re looking for NPCs here they are. One is a bit of the path, in case you miss her.
I love this year’s messages. Each person’s perspective on the past changes their view of the present and what they want the future to look like. You can’t please everyone, but you can find something in common.
There’s Always a Message
An anniversary is always a moment of looking back and forwards. So, usually under the spell of the Wandering Minstrel, a message is given to the Warrior of Light – and, to be frank, more accurately to you as the player. This is the one time it’s okay to put aside that breach between character and player.
Whatever it is this year, I won’t post spoilers.
What Else Is Happening at the Rising 2024?
Just a couple of things:
- If this is your first event, then you will unlock the 2023 Mini-games. These can be accessed from the toybox in your Inn rooms.
- Something labelled as Unexpected Encounters on the official blog. Depending on where you’ve travelled and who you’ve met, your options on who you can see in Limsa change.
The Rising 2024 Rewards
This year, there’s a new Krile minion – which I am going to guess is the quest reward. There’s also a table lamp that’s almost like a strange restaurant, or outdoor cafe seating light. This I would imagine will be available to purchase for Gil, from a Rising Vendor.
The lamp picture is the Official Blog, until I can run the event and take my own.
How Do I Get the Table Lamp?
Other Official 11th Anniversary Imagery
As well as the event itself, FFXIV like to put out other images in celebration.
Job/Class Montage
This has every FFXIV class/job available as at Dawntrail.
The original image had a white background, but as that can come out a bit to bright for people, I added a “soft dark” background above. The original image can be found here: https://gamepad.club/@[email protected]/113034394924391407
Device Wallpapers
Per @FF_XIV_EN on xTwit, you can now get Rising-specific wallpapers for your devices.
These are done through the Portal App not the Companion App. Why they don’t just merge the two, I don’t know!
TL;DR Come to the Rising 2024 for the Reason, not the Rewards
It doesn’t seem to matter what rewards games give their players for events, someone will complain about them. But I always think that games – especially those with story and cutscenes – are about the journey and the experience.
The Rising isn’t usually a long-winded event. You can take a break from extreme raiding (if that’s your thing), do the event then return to proving what amazing gear you can get from raids. But enjoy the moment (for both the event, and the group content for that matter!).
I happen to think it’s cute to get a Krile minion. It won’t replace my Miqo’te’s dragonet, but many NPCs of note have minion doppelgänger. Whatever your reason, come for the experience, hang around other players and take a breather. In today’s frantic world, it’s worth it just for that. Enjoy the 2024 FFXIV anniversary, folks.
