When is Moonfire Faire 2022?
Starts:
Wednesday, August 10th 2022 at 9am (UK Time), 1am (PDT)
Ends:
Friday, August 26th 2022 at 3:59pm (UK Time), 7:59am (PDT)

How to Get Started
A Matter of Course
You’ll find Mayaru Moyaru in Limsa Lominsa on the Upper Decks (X:11.5 Y:13.8) to grab the quest. For any new FFXIV players, your nearest Aetheryte Shard is the Aftcastle.
The quest is called A Matter of Course.
Moonfire Faire always takes place in the Costa del Sol (Eastern La Noscea), but don’t head there first! Grab the quest in Limsa and pick up the story before heading over to the beach.
The Moonfire Faire Challenge
What’s the difference? Bombs. Think of the jumping challenges at the Gold Saucer – especially the one in the Round Square. One bomb knocks you off – that’s the thing here.
Do You Have to Get to the Top?
For the quest: no.
For, as chat was just saying “Bragging Rights”, then yes! Don’t hurry. during this of all FFXIV events, it’s fun at the beach. See if you can make it, just for the heck of it.
Quick Tip
Don’t rush. Where there are bombs, there will always be bombs. The trick is looking at the spawn and explosion timer. Run past those just spawned. I actually found the new course somewhat easier than the pure jumping one but that’s because of my horrenous sense of distance and balance!
Fhul Me Once
If you’re on a large screen, then any story snippets are hidden in the “Story” tab. Ignore that if you want zero spoilers – though I’ve tried to minimise those! If you’re on a smaller screen then you can skip to the rewards in the “getting started” section below to bypass spoilers.
Getting Started
You’ll be granted this quest once you’ve completed the opening quest A Matter of Course. This is done once you’ve completed the first part of the story, which start with Haermaga on the island just off the Costa del Sol beach.
Fhul Me Once
After introducing you to the newly expanded Challenge course, Haermaga goes on to express his concern about a certain adventurer. If you’ve been to Moonfire Faires before, then you’ll have met this one. The real story is what happens between him and his fellow adventurers, so here’s the non-core thread walk-through.
R’fhul Tia is ready to tell you what an amazing Adventurer he has become and that he travels with two Apprentices. Both he and his kid sister R’majha recognise you if you were there in previous years. R’fhul’s ready for the new obstacle course, but his sister is not so sure.
Eager to show his skills, R’fhul heads to the Moonfire Challenge, while Haermaga and Beaudefoin act as commentator and judge. The story hinges on how Fhul deals with the course and the impact of that on his sister and apprentices.
As per usual, it’s you, dear Warrior of Light, to show the main character of the story how it’s done. Take to the Moonfire Challenge, pick your route and go! There are two checkpoints, one half way and the other at the “end” (as classified by the story). Will you go jumping, or bomb-hopping?
Moonfire Faire Rewards

You are granted the glamour items upon finishing Fhul Me Once. The first parts of the obstacle challenge are part of that story. If you want to try to get to the very top then that’s just for laughs!
