Well, I've just checked, like three times, to make sure this is a Wild Boar and not a Wild Hoglet! They look pretty much exactly the same, except for their size. Anyhow, unlike the hoglets, the boars are found inside the Bramble Patch and do yield Boar Skins for leatherworker crafting.
More importantly, it also makes it easy to tick it off your hunting log as they're all in the same section of said Bramble Patch too.

If you're vaguely on-level, Diseased Treants also roam here and may - randomly - attack you to defend the boar.
