Sneakily hiding in plain sight in and near the totally inconspicuous Castrum Centri is the 5th Cohort Laquearius. You know, just in case you saw the 3rd Cohort Laquearius as a warm-up.
Where Exactly Are They?
While you only need two Laquearius' for the Arcanist Hunting Log, Castrum Centri is a key part of the A Realm Reborn MSQ. So, there is always a chance of you following another player through there.
While there are a few Laquearius' outside Castrum Centri, there are three others spread around inside it too. This means you have options if the outside ones aren't there when you arrive.
I found a total of six on my scouting trip - you can see these on the map below. There may have been more, but hopefully, that's still a helpful starter for you.

Well, c'mon, that's exactly what happens with a certain pirate in the Arcanist storyline, no?
That aside, I guess they're your abilities to down strong melée enemies before they reach you. Especially since FFXIV reworked Summoner so you don't get any pet attacks straight away in new battles.
What your Carbuncle can do, of course, is give you a shield via Radiant Aegis
(or its Enhanced form). So, always keep that skill slotted somewhere obvious on your action bars.
