Think of mud. Now think of a puppy. What you've got here is nothing like what you just imagined! Just don't get swallowed by the slippery, slimy critters that roam the Fogfens of Mor Dhona.
Mudpuppy Location
Head out the South-Western exit of Revenant's Toll and past the camp of the same name. Hug the hills on the right (literally if that's your thing) and you'll find mudpuppies. Some also roam close to the water at The Tangle.

ConsoleGamesWiki rightly points out that you can also find these in the Coerthas Central Highlands. They pinpoint X:16, Y:30.
I kept to the Mor Dhona one, as that is the location given in the actual Hunting Log.
