Ceremonial Staff of the Eternal Sun
Cosmetic Lore-masters Staff from Midsummer

The Ceremonial Staff of the Eternal Sun was introduced as a reward in the 2024 Midsummer Festival event. This Lore-master's weapon is a sturdy wooden staff with a metal tip and with burnt, or engraved patterns where your hands hold it. But the ornately-worked pale steel-blue Sun that makes it unlike most other staves in The Lord of the Ring Online. This is especially true as it emits a pale green-yellow light (not white nor pure yellow - it was green after I normalised the colours).

In my opinion, it is a work of art and, if you own a Lore-Master, you should add this to your collection.

I've Seen the Ceremonial Staff of the Eternal Sun Before...

If you're a longer-standing LOTRO player then yes, you may well have. I believe I still have it in my Wardrobe and/or storage. But why?

They used to be in the lootboxes that could only be opened with "Study Steel Keys", the predecessor of the Black Steel Key. Those lootboxes had weapon appearances you could not get anywhere else that I was aware of, along with other items (Necklace of the Fox anyone?).

Old...Yet New

LOTRO-Wiki lists severalExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab) similarly-named staves. The only difference was the level of the lootbox (and thefore the level of the weapon).

No other weapon I have seen has this appearance. In bringing it into Midsummer, LOTRO have made it possible for newer players to obtain weapon appearances that are otherwise unavailable. Items that were in lootboxes. And I'm all for that.
