The Shoulders of the Waking Wood are similar though not exactly the same as those worn by Harthalín in the High-Elf intro. In fact, you'll see the rest of the Waking Wood set has been based along the same lines as Harthalín's outfit. (Apologies for the imperfect screenshot, it's very old).
The ones you have wrap around the front and upper back of your character, creating extra protection of vital organs. Based on the greens of the whole set, the curves of the pattern are like veins on leaves. It "feels" heavy, as though made from leather then overlaid with the patterns. Also, it dyes very well (see below).
