I have to say, often the item names in LOTRO are completely correct and representative. I can't quite bring myself to agree in the case of the Short Ranger's Robe. This upper body cosmetic comes to below the knees, not qualifying it for "short". And I also cannot imagine a Ranger of any ilk wearing something like this. Unless by "Ranger" they just mean someone who shoots from a distance, or who wanders.
Semantics aside, this robe is alright as a design I suppose. It's almost like a nod to the classic patterns SSG used to denote "Elven" pieces but I think the number of colours here is a bit much.
How Well Does It Dye?
Unusually, LOTRO Wiki has this item shown in a lot of different dyes. However it appears that only the white/cream areas respond to the colours you apply.
