How It Looks
Firstly, it looks good. Whether it's made of already-white materials or painted that colour, the wood "feels" quality and well-made. All the segments of the Bassoon are pieced together with engraved metal featuring a leafy, vine-like pattern.
How It Sounds
Don't let the tooltip put you off. What it refers to as "gruff, impulsive notes
", I experience as "easy-listening". This is particularly important if you have the Brusque Bassoon for combat, where you're constantly making sounds.
Given you can equip a different instrument type in your outfits to whatever's in your combat gear, there's no reason not to try it out!
