Mount Description
While the debate may rage about the lore-appropriateness of Elk mounts in LOTRO, they are undoubtedly still popular. And, depending on the character, I use the Elk of the Spring Wood a lot and it is just lovely.
Elk of the Spring Wood Description
It has dark, sooty grey fur and budding antlers. Its decorations include a simple by elegant mask down the nose and around the eyes and a deep green caparison, broken up by golden vines. The saddle is mostly a muted gold in colour, so it fits the overall design.
But its barding is mostly loose, so it "feels" a bit wild still. It is not some sort of "war elk", but a companion to enjoy nature with.
A Spring...Wonderland?
I've had difficulties taking screenshots of Spring Fest Mounts. That's because the environment of an area alters colours of things in it. For this Elk of the Forest Spring I just sort of gave up and took it near Thorin's Hall. At least in snow, the green you see here is the green you get!
