If this is your first class Hunting Log, then welcome to the creature species that's super-annoying: the Nesting Buzzard - and its kin.
This family has a habit of being able to see you from a distance. Probably because, you know, they can fly. But, in this case, they're not aggressive until you attack them, which is fair play really. Every other kind of Buzzard-like bird (like the Arbor Buzzard in Pugilist Rank 2) is aggressive by default.

They're found North-West of The West Hammer
in Hammerlea (Western Thanalan) as well as La Noscea.

Arcanist Log Location
As ConsoleGamesWiki points out, you can find these in Lower La Noscea. I found them around X:32, Y:16.
