Microchu area vicious plants that can stab you with barbs, bite you with a sort-of mouth and give you poison damage. Don't worry, this is a gentle introduction to Damage-over-Time, so you'll be fine. It's nothing you and your weapon can't handle.
As with many enemies in FFXIV, the deeper into the story you go, the larger (and more vicious) related species are.
While I have provided the North Shroud information here, Microchu can also be found in the Central Shroud around X:29.5, Y:19.5.
