The next addition to my LOTRO Event Cosmetics Database is short and sweet – Ill Omens Cosmetics!
This is for the LOTRO Ill Omens Skirmish Event, which mostly features cosmetic pets and portents as event rewards.
The Ill Omens Cosmetics are all cloaks, but of varying designs. I’ve included previews of them all (I think!).
The main focuses of the rewards have been pets and, in previous years, portents. However, each year has introduced a new cloak – and very well-designed ones at that! So let’s take a look.
Ill Omens Cosmetics
There are a couple of “pure cosmetic” cloaks and, since 2024, a range of gear cloaks.
This Year
For 2024, there were no cosmetics available to barter for Tokens of Ill Omens. However, the Ill Omens Treasury contains a “Cloak of Conflict Selection Box”. This contains Gear Cloaks, but there are also a variety of cosmetic appearances:

- Mending Cloak of Conflict
- Nimble Cloak of Conflict
- Piercing Cloak of Conflict
- Resilient Cloak of Conflict
- Stunning Cloak of Conflict

After Ill Omens, Spring Festival is usually next up in the LOTRO Events Schedule!

TL;DR Ill Omens Outfits
On the one hand it’s good there are more cloak designs available. But on the other, you need to be Level 149+ to get the newer ones. It’s a pity us non-end-gamers couldn’t at least get a cosmetic version so that endgamers still received their combat gear bonus.
